Overview

Tammy Coutu is a seasoned Human Resources strategist with more than 20 years of experience delivering client focused, results oriented solutions that are tailored to meet organizational goals and unique cultural fit. Her expertise lies  in talent acquisition, employee relations, policy development, compliance, and building HR infrastructure from the ground up—particularly for startups and small to mid-sized organizations.
 
Tammy has developed complex HR solutions including policy redevelopment for multi-jurisdictional nonprofit organizations, full-cycle recruitment projects, strategic HR partner for non profit organization through restructuring and career transition programs supporting displaced workers.

Tammy spent two years at George Brown College as a Career Advisor where she delivered job readiness services and provided advice and support to students to increase employability skills. Primarily working with international students, she designed tools, delivered workshops and clinics and provided one on one coaching. Her earlier leadership roles in retail positioned her at the forefront of rapid organizational growth, where she developed scalable HR systems, performance management frameworks, and retention strategies during critical expansion phases.

Beyond the corporate world, Tammy has a passion for volunteerism in youth leadership, refugee support, long term care, disaster relief service, and competitive sailing event coordination—including her role as Sport Coordinator for the 2015 Pan American Games. She has sat on boards of multiple organisations. 

She holds a Master of Science in Education, a BA Honours in Psychology, and certifications in ESL teaching and Indigenous Studies. She brings to every role a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and community impact.
